Can You Find Our Party? MKELive to Hold Holiday Celebration at Cuvee’ December 7th

Monday, November 16th, 2009

(MILWAUKEE, WI) It’s one of Milwaukee’s best-kept secrets.

(Not that MKElive is having a holiday party – but where the party is being held.)

On Monday, December 7th, MKELive and its strategic partners are inviting Milwaukee area business professionals celebrate the season and establish new business relationships that can lead to a profitable 2010 at Cuvee, one of Milwaukee’s trendiest and most-engaging holiday venues.

Located in Milwaukee’s trendy Third Ward, Cuvee is definitely worth finding. It offers more than one hundred varieties of champagne and sparkling wine – the most comprehensive selection of champagne and sparkling wine in the state!

“This holiday event will be a little more relaxed for MKELive, a way to say thank you for a great 2009 and best wishes for 2010,” said Katie Felten, president MKE Live. “We work hard to plan networking events that are in venues unique to the Milwaukee area. Cuvee certainly fits this description. It’s a great setting for a holiday party. For people that have never been there, I’m sure they’ll never forget it.”

The event will include live music from the “Keith Sarnow Trio,” lessons on mixing tasty holiday drinks, raffles and a champagne toast.

The event will also serve as a Toys For Tots drop off location. Attendees that bring a new toy to the MKELive holiday gala will be entered into a special drawing for tickets to the Bucks, Admirals and Wave games.

“Our goal is to surround the evening’s tree with 300 toys for needy children,” said Felten.

The MKELive Holiday Gala will be held on Monday, December 7th from 5:30-8:30 at Cuvee in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward (located at 181 N. Broadway, Third Floor). The cost is $10.00.  Pre-register here.

No one will mention “that” guy when
MKELive introduces its new website

(MILWAUKEE, WI) Enough already.

On September 14th, MKELive will introduce its new website during the fall’s first LinkedIn-Milwaukee event at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Wauwatosa.

The event will also be considered a “Favre-free zone,” in reference to minimizing or eliminating redundant conversation about the waffling, media-manipulating, attention-hogging, former Green Bay Packers quaterback.

“We’re really looking forward to introducing the new mkelive.com and explaining how it is such an improved networking and training tool,” said Katie Felten, managing partner and president of MKE Live. “The ‘Favre-free Zone’ is just for fun. Although, people might have to find another subject to begin their networking conversations – like Aaron Rodgers.”

Felten is featured in LinkedWorking: Generating Success On the World’s Largest Professional Networking Website. She is recognized throughout the state as a leading trainer in LinkedIn. She is frequently asked to speak to professional organizations about LinkedIn and social networking media, and has been quoted in media throughout the state. Since April, more than 2,000 people have attended MKELive’s LinkedIn training and networking events.

While admission to all LinkedIn-Milwaukee events is normally $10, attendees wearing Packers-gear (e.g., hats, shirts, accessories, socks, etc.) to this September’s event will be admitted for free.

LinkedIn-Milwaukee will be held on Monday, September 14th from 5:30-8:30 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Wauwatosa (located at 10499 Innovation Drive, Wauwatosa, WI 53226). Networkers are encouraged to pre-register at www.mkelive.com/calendar .

Cedar Creek Winery – an MKE Live Partners Party

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Dan and Katie of MKE Live put a private Thank You party together at Cedar Creek Winery in Cedarburg and invited partners that had helped along the way. There was a nice little group in attendance.

Cedar Creek is housed in a wonderful old building and Connie has been giving tours for nearly thirty years. You wouldn’t know it. She delivers a very fresh, interactive tour. I mentioned this to her and she said it all depends on the people in the tour. How very kind.

While much of the industry has gravitated to stainless steel vats, Cedar Creek Winery still uses oak barrels for some of their red wines.

We did get to see a couple large oak casks from the old days and were able to coax Joe Glass, of Wired Wisconsin, inside one of them to pretend he was cleaning them by hand. You go, Joe.

John and Shelly brought several kinds of cheese to compliment the wines we were tasting and many of us took some award-winning bottles home. How could you not leave without some Strawberry Blush?

It was a lovely time and well worth the drive. CedarCreekCollage

Milwaukee marketing companies organize social media conference

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Trivera Interactive, Corporate Identity Solutions and Clear Verve Marketing have joined forces to develop Social Media University, an educational event in Milwaukee that will provide hands-on learning and real-life examples of the most prominent social media tools in use today.
The event, conceived by Tom Snyder, president and chief executive officer of Trivera Interactive, will be held on Wednesday, July 29, at the Italian Conference Center, 631 E. Chicago St., Milwaukee.
Social Media University will be a day-long learning event for business owners, executives or marketing professionals interested in maximizing their business’ use of social media. The event will feature hands-on learning from experts drawn from the Milwaukee creative and business community.
The event will bring together local social media experts who will share real-life experiences with social media and help business owners embrace best practices for this new era of communications.

Presenters will include:

  • Chris Remington and Katie Fleming – Trivera Interactive.
  • Sue Marks – Pinstripe Talent.
  • Augie Ray – Fullhouse.
  • Jon Kurozawa – K6 Marketing.
  • Christina Steder – Clear Verve Marketing.
  • Katie Felten – MKELive.com.
  • Sara Meaney – Comet Branding.
  • Blake Samic – Actions Talk.
  • Scott Baitinger – Streetza Pizza.
  • Joe Woelfle – Blatz Liquor.
  • Phil Gerbyshak – The “Make it Great Guy.”

A keynote presentation will be delivered by Jay Steinfeld, CEO of Blinds.com, who will share how one of America’s largest online brands has used the power of the Web, first to build a small business into an Internet powerhouse, and now, through social media, to turn his brand’s fan base into the fuel for greater success.
The event will be followed by a “Tweetup” on Twitter, organized by Corporate Identity Solutions (also known online as “@TweetupGirls”).
Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptop computers so they can immediately apply what they learn to their companies.
“As an interactive marketing company, many of our clients were approaching us with questions on nearly every aspect of social media,” Snyder said. “Because social media is growing and changing so quickly, it is difficult for many people, even marketers, to keep up with all the changes. We felt that if we brought together a group of people we admired and gave business owners the opportunity to learn from these subject matter experts, attendees would walk away with a complete experience at a much higher level than we could provide by hosting a short event on our own.”
Tickets for the event are $95 per seat and are available online at www.socialmediamilwaukee.com. For more information, contact Snyder at (262) 250-9400.
