MKELive, Sales Progress to Blow the Roof Off Traditional Networking Group
Thursday, September 3rd, 2009(MILWAUKEE, WI) The local networking skyline will change significantly this fall.
That’s when Sales Progress, in partnership with MKE Live, will formally introduce and launch the Progress Training Network (PTN) – a leading-edge networking organization that provides professionals in specialized vertical markets with a unique blend of unlimited training, online and face-to-face networking and flexible membership.
The PTN networking launch will take place on the rooftop vista of Bootleggers Bar & Grill on Monday September 28th at 5:30pm (1023 N. Old World 3rd St., Milwaukee). Admission is only $5, and is open to all professionals and entrepreneurs regardless of any networking affiliations.
“PTN is really a different direction in networking,” said Tim Hagen, president of Sales Progress. “These groups will be defined by similar professions – one group for outside sales, one group for inside sales, one group for human resources, and more. The intent is to drive unrelenting value to our members through training that is specific to a single vertical market. Networking will still happen, but we believe its quality will improve because group members will inherently understand the similar contacts, needs and referral expectations and of their counterparts.”
Hagen’s goal is to form vertical groups with 300 members or more. Attendees that are interested in participating in a PTN group will have the opportunity to learn more about the organization, philosophies, training practices, the formation of charter groups and points that make it unique from other traditional networking formats.
“This is a great partnership for us because PTN compliments MKELive’s mission of connecting people and incorporates a strong LinkedIn component,” said Katie Felten, president of MKELive. “PTN doesn’t lock out competitors – it welcomes them for their insight and value. In essence, the only requirement for chapter membership is based on a person’s job duties.”
People are asked to pre-register for this networking event and first-ever introduction of the PTN format. For more information or to register, visit www.mkelive.com or www.salesprogress.com.

(MILWAUKEE, WI) Enough already.
On September 14th, MKELive will introduce its new website during the fall’s first LinkedIn-Milwaukee event at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Wauwatosa.

Cedar Creek Winery – an MKE Live Partners Party
Tuesday, July 14th, 2009Dan and Katie of MKE Live put a private Thank You party together at Cedar Creek Winery in Cedarburg and invited partners that had helped along the way. There was a nice little group in attendance.
Cedar Creek is housed in a wonderful old building and Connie has been giving tours for nearly thirty years. You wouldn’t know it. She delivers a very fresh, interactive tour. I mentioned this to her and she said it all depends on the people in the tour. How very kind.
While much of the industry has gravitated to stainless steel vats, Cedar Creek Winery still uses oak barrels for some of their red wines.
We did get to see a couple large oak casks from the old days and were able to coax Joe Glass, of Wired Wisconsin, inside one of them to pretend he was cleaning them by hand. You go, Joe.
John and Shelly brought several kinds of cheese to compliment the wines we were tasting and many of us took some award-winning bottles home. How could you not leave without some Strawberry Blush?
It was a lovely time and well worth the drive.
